It's here - December 1st
(24 more sleeps till X-mas)
Yesterday it snowed for the first time. White flakes flying about in the air, almost like they didn't know what to do or where to land, because the minute they did land, they melted. It's always like this at the beginning of winter, the first couple snowfalls are light and quick and dance around before any accumulation can be measured.
I woke up this morning feeling cold, wanting to stay in bed,....cozy and warm under hatchling's old purple tie-dyed comforter that she didn't want anymore, so I inherited for my bed. I put my bare feet on the floor and felt... IT.
IT being that feeling that comes this time of year, every year. The cold floor rising up to meet my bare feet. The warmth of my moccasin slippers as I wiggle my toes into them.... my heightened sense of everything cozy and comfortable in our little bohemian apartment....
~ the more than usual craving for that first cup of strong hot coffee~
~ the feeling of warm flannel against my arms, as I hugged my hatchling good morning~
~ the steam rising off the cold outside ground while letting our little chihuahua go pee~
~ the cozy feeling of plugging in on our little electric wood stove~
(that I scored at a yard sale this summer for $5)
~ the addition of hot chocolate and mini-marshmallows to this week's grocery list~
peace out!

Hi, Yikes, Dec already - thanks for the reminder (I think). I'm a first time visitor who dropped in from Chris' blog, A Badger and a One Eyed Toad. So I read your profile and found a fellow Aquarian! (my bday is 2/3 - forget about the year :-) I'm planning to check out some older posts and invite you to drop in anytime to our blog spot, the Frog and PenguINN where you'll fine myself and Grenville hanging out and we always enjoy drop-in company!
... that cosying down, going inward, inner hibernation... and cookies.
Love this post! Your little bohemian home sounds cozy wozy, darling, and great for snuggling. Love how you describe it! Stay warm.

We had our first snow on the first day of December. How perfect. :) Enjoy the season!
The cold is definitely here! I hear you about the wanting to stay in bed and needing a warm drink. Stay healthy! With the colder weather usually comes the head colds. I, despite my best efforts, have caught one. Have a great December Boho Mom!
