hatchling at 3 years old
OMG...I cannot believe my baby hatchling started high school today. Omgomgomgomgomg!
Just 14 years old, looking way too cute in her ripped skinny jeans, DC runners, and hoodie;
She looked so young, so sweet and innocent; not yet jaded by this world we live in;
I so badly wanted to turn back the clock to her first day of kindergarden;
to relive it all...the bear-hug good-bye, the excited classroom all decked out in primary colours and alphabet wall borders;
But she didn't excitedly lead me by the hand this morning, no skipping through the parking lot of the school;
she is far too cool for such displays of excitenent;
far too independent for me to accompany her any further than the parking lot;
far too sophisticated to need her mom;
And I couldn't be more freakin' proud of her!
(posts about boys, dating, sex, cars, peer pressure, booze, drugs to be written at a later time...can't think about that right now)
peace out!

oh wow!!!! it goes too fast, it goes too fast! lol
all power to her. may there be few posts on the not so good high school stuff!
I feel the same! It doesn't matter how hard we want to hold on to those days... We just can't!
I guess that's why God invented grandchildren!? So we can have a little taste of it all over again!
Have a good day, dear!
She'll be alright, Gabby! And I feel these later post won't be half the subjects listed... She's so mature for her age, so centered and grounded. Breath deeply, and do be proud of her and of yourself for leading her to this point of her life with such bravery and wisdom! :)
Kisses from us.
Hoping that her first day went well. (i'm sure it did) the question is: how did you make it through the first day? lol
my son started high school this year too. And my daughter started middle school. It's hard to believe how fast it's all gone. Sometimes it feels like my kids have been with me for 100 years and at the same time it feels like the time goes by in the blink of an eye!
