Imbolic is the time between Yule and the Spring Equinox, the halfway point in the dark months of the year. It's the time when the days suddenly seem to be getting longer, and the snow is beginning to melt, showing us small patches of earth and green. At this time of returning spring, our ancestors lit bonfires and candles to celebrate the rebirth of the land. It's a time to honor Brigid, the Irish goddess of fire, hearth and home.
"Blessed be the earth, and all who dwell upon it.
We give thanks for the season now departing from us,
For the blessings it has bestowed upon us,
And upon those with whom we share this world.
Blessed be the new season.
We pray that it will be a time filled with peace,
With abundance, with prosperity,
With wisdom,
With love.

Let us now prepare for the time ahead
By opening our hearts, and our minds, and our spirits.

although spring is SO far away, for us here in Nova Scotia, it's nice to notice that the days are getting longer, with the sun staying up long enough for my walk home... :)
Blessed Imbolc to you! It's CRAZY cold here today! Can you believe it? The coldest day of the year but at least there is sunshine. Did my crystal ritual, had enough energy this year. Hope you're handling the weather alright!
Beautiful post. Our Imbolc is in the 70s--very pleasant and the fruit trees are budding. It's the only time I really like living in the southwest.

It's a lovely time of year, we don't have snow but the growing light is here too of course.
